Mule Madness kicks off Friday, February 9 and continues through Sunday, February 18.
The team with the most participation points at the end of the competition will be named the Cardinal champion. The team with the most total dollars raised at the end of the competition will be named the Grey champion.
Participation points are awarded to the teams with the following qualifications:
• (5 points) - Any alumni athletes, student-athletes or parents of current athletes who make a gift of $100 or more.
• (3 points) - Any alumni athletes, student-athletes or parents of current athletes who make a gift under $100.
• (1 point) – Any friends of Muhlenberg who make a gift to any sport.
*25 additional bonus points will be awarded to any team who has 100% participation from their student-athletes.
These goals were determined by members of the annual giving staff and the athletic department. Each team has a student-athlete participation goal, a total participation points goal and a total dollars raised goal.
The winning teams will be named champions for the 2017-2018 season, have bragging rights for the remainder of the year and have their team names engraved on the Mule Madness trophy on display in Memorial Hall. As part of the D-III challenge, the Cardinal and Grey champions will each receive $4,500 from trustee Jerry Galgano '80, P'11, P'14. Please click here to view the challenge guidelines.
Making a gift as a student-athlete is a great way to give back to the team you love to play on – and it will increase your team’s participation. If 100 percent of your team makes a gift to Mule Madness, your team can earn 25 bonus points and additional dollars through the D-III Challenge. For seniors, your gift will also count towards the Senior Class Campaign. Gifts under $25 are accepted by phone or in person.
Of course! When you make your gift online, you will be asked to select which team or teams you wish to support. If you make a gift by mail, please note the designation of your gift on the check.
We are counting all prior gifts this fund year (July 1, 2017 - February 8, 2018). Alumni athletes, student-athletes, and parents of current student-athletes who have already made a gift to the College were grandfathered in and reflected in the donor counts at the outset of the competition. Every gift made during Mule Madness adds participation points and dollars to your team.
